 Search strategies:

The subject term "big churches" seems to refer predominantly to megachurches although you may sometimes find relevant discussions.  A very useful search term is "church renewal" which covers some the discipleship and spirituality issues without necessarily emphasizing "church growth" perspectives.  There are materials on "discipleship" and "spirituality" but these tend to use other lenses than the size of the congregation.  Browsing the call numbers around the books listed above may also be valuable.
